Next steps

The paper's submission process is now closed.

Here are next steps :

- CLOSED - Papers acceptance : on going by November 20.

- Revised papers submission : January 8, 2016

- Publish-ED workshop : February 4&5, 2016

Objective

This Workshop aims at helping researchers transform their past conference papers (i.e. ICED, ASME DETC, DESIGN, CIRP DESIGN) into high quality journal submissions.

It also offers an opportunity to the research communities working in the field of Design (Engineering Science and Management Science) to share their respective practice.

For the authors, the main benefit of attending the workshop is the constructive feedback they will receive on their work. Thus, they should be able to rework their papers for direct submission to a journal through the regular review process.

Organization

Plenary Session

It includes a panel of the editors’ discussion with all participants, providing an opportunity for the participants to ask questions to editors for a better understanding of how to enhance their chances of success to publish in peer reviews.

Small Group Sessions

Two types of small group sessions will be proposed

  • Discussions between one of the editors and 4 to 6 authors on their research paper to provide feedbacks and advise to improve it. Each author presents his research paper project, the editor acting as an adviser and the authors playing the role of peer reviewers for the of the other participants’ production.
  • Discussions between 2 editors and 4 to 6 participants on a specific issue, such as, what is a good introduction, why and how the research methodology have to be described, how to present literature review.

 --------------------

We welcome 40 to 50 participants coming from 10 to 14 different countries.

The results of the participants’ follow-up survey from the past editions showed that 75% in average of the respondents used the outputs gathered from the workshop to rewrite their paper and submitted this revised version to a journal.

Participants and Editors enjoyed the two days of discussions but also the walk and dinner in the mountains.
